  • The Association of Frontotemporal Degeneration - FTD can present with executive dysfunction, loss of empathy, impulsive behavior and apathy. www.theaftd.org. 866-507-7222.

  • Lewy Body Dementia - LBD results in a decline in mental abilities often creating cognitive decline, visual  hallucinations and symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease including several movement disorders.  www.minds.nih.gov. 
    • ​​Also, visit www.lewybody.org. This is a UK based organization and has a 46 page document about LBD that might be helpful. It is available to download. 
  • Korsakoff Syndrome - KS is a chronic memory disorder caused by a Vitamin B1 deficiency often resulting from long term alcohol abuse. www.niaa.nih.gov  &  www.alz.org ​

​Strokes - Per the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA). "Due to the sudden occurrence of a stroke, decisions are needed for the ongoing care and treatment of the patient.
